If you are just beginning to shop for an infrared outdoor heater you will be pleasantly surprised to learn that there are many styles and colors to choose from.

Heading the list is the freestanding patio heater.

Freestanding Patio Heater

A freestanding heater provides a 15-20 foot circle of heat. You will find that it can increase the outside temperature by 10-25 degrees Fahrenheit.

That will allow you to enjoy your patio living for an extended period of time every year.

A good patio gas space heater will generate 45-50,000 BTUs and that will provide a comfortable environment for anyone sitting within 20 feet of the unit.

Outdoor propane heaters generate that heat by burning propane or natural gas. The fuel tanks are built into the base of the heater.

Most heaters have burners constructed of high-quality stainless steel, with the heat radiator at the top of the unit made of aluminum.  That provides efficient heat distribution.

The rest of the heater may be made of other materials, including cast aluminum, stainless steel, or bronze.

Propane/Natural Gas Patio Heaters

Freestanding patio heaters are about 7 feet tall and look something like a lamppost with an umbrella type housing on top. The umbrella top helps to radiate heat over the surrounding area.

There are some patio infrared natural heaters and electric heaters available, but the majority use propane or natural gas and are the most practical for most homeowners.

Your patio heater should be equipped with a shut-off valve. This safety valve stops flow of gas if the heater is knocked over.  A patio heater can be a fire hazard without a safety value.

If you have a very small outdoor living area you may find that a tabletop or footstool type of heater will do the job.

Now it's easy to stretch the time you enjoy life on your patio with the addition of a patio heater or two.  Like the ones offered through this web site by our recommended online stores.

Enjoy more of the good  life with your new patio heater...
